QR has changed a lot. What started as a simple way to check the menu and order from the table is becoming an increasingly complete part of the restaurant experience.
Now several customers can order from different phones while sharing the same cart, log in, use promotions, check their points and past orders, save payment methods, get confirmation when the order reaches the kitchen, or keep adding products to an account that's already open.
And we want to keep building on that foundation. That means continuing to invest in product, infrastructure and all the connections that let an order move from the customer's phone to the restaurant's operations without friction.
That's why we're updating QR pricing with a model designed to reward exactly what we want to happen: that you use it.
From now on, QR will have a fee of up to €25 per billing period.
But that €25 doesn't work like a fixed fee. The amount will automatically decrease as you process orders through QR.
The more volume that goes through the tool, the less you'll pay in fees. And once usage is high enough, the fee disappears completely.
| Volumen procesado vía QR | Cuota |
|---|---|
| 0 € | 25 € |
| 500 € | 17,50 € |
| 1.000 € | 10 € |
| 1.500 € | 2,50 € |
| 1.670 € o más | 0 € |
There are no tiers or jumps between one amount and another. The calculation is fully proportional: every order you process through QR makes the fee a little lower.
In other words, you don't need to reach a specific figure to start benefiting from the model. From the very first euro processed, the fee starts to drop.
If you only want to use QR as a digital menu, you'll be able to keep doing that for free.
With QR Menu, your customers can scan the code from the table and check the menu directly from their phone, but they won't be able to order or pay through the QR.
The new pricing model applies to QR Ordering, the mode that turns QR into an ordering channel inside the restaurant: adding products, sending orders to the kitchen, paying from a phone and accessing the rest of the features tied to the purchase experience.
In short:
This way, each restaurant can decide how far it wants to take the QR experience based on how it operates.
QR will have a fee of up to €25 per billing period, which will automatically decrease as the volume of orders processed through the tool increases.
The more you use QR, the lower the fee. Once you process around €1,670 during the period, the fee will decrease completely down to €0.
It's important to tell this fee apart from the commissions tied to each order:
The commission is charged regardless of the fee amount. In other words, even if your fee drops to €0 based on your usage volume, the commission for each order still applies as normal.
The volume of orders processed only affects the fee amount.
This model fits better than a traditional subscription. A fixed fee would be the same for a restaurant that barely uses QR and for one that has made it a regular part of its service. With this system, it's exactly the opposite.
The cost adapts to how the tool is actually used. If you're just getting started with QR, the fee will be higher. As your customers make it part of their experience and the number of orders grows, it will automatically keep decreasing.
You don't need to change plans, reach a specific tier, or request any adjustment. The calculation happens at the end of each period based on what actually took place.
The latest update brings a much more complete experience for customers and restaurants, with orders synced across several devices at the same table, customer accounts, promotions, loyalty, order history, saved payment methods, recommendations before finishing an order, and more personalization over what you want to show on the menu.
We've also improved everything that happens during service. Customers can now know when their order has been sent to the kitchen and, when the restaurant works with open accounts, keep ordering while keeping visibility over everything that's already been sent.
These features are designed so QR can carry more and more weight in the restaurant's operations: speeding up certain moments of service, making it easier for customers to order again, and opening new opportunities to increase ticket size without adding work for the team.
And the truth is there's still a lot to build. The new pricing lets us keep developing QR sustainably and, at the same time, make sure the restaurants that get the most out of the tool are also the ones who pay the least to keep it active.
